Gandhi & The One Way

Vivekananda is quite right that the heartbeat of India is her God-consciousness. But we are not living up to our ideals, not even to our motto–Satyameva Jayate (Truth Alone Triumphs).

When the “Father of the Indian Nation,” M.K. Gandhi  says:

“God is not encased in a safe to be approached only through a little hole in it,”

he is obviously alluding to, and is against the Christian Missionary’s contention that we can approach the all supreme God (creator of the universe) only through one mediator, the man Christ Jesus, who said: “I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life; no one comes to the Father except through Me” (John 14:6). As Pastor Charles Stanley says, “If there were OTHER ways to Himself, then יהוה/God/الله/ईश्वर knowingly did the most devilish thing to send His Son to earth who would later be nailed to that excruciating cross [leave alone whether he died on it or not].”  The truth that “all have sinned and it is our sins that separate us from God,” seems to be eluding many, including great personalities like Gandhi as well as the common man. ALL streams (ways) do lead to one ocean (death – Heb9:27); but only one narrow way to Mt. Everest (eternal life). In conforming to the one way that God set before us, man shows himself to be humble, which is the greatest virtue in the kingdom of God (Matt18:4).

If the rulers of this world have protocols, how much more, God?! You have to come to God on His terms, not yours!

Those who Conform at all, show that they are Humble!

It is a law of nature that a caterpillar must conform to the little hole in the pupa in order to be transformed into a butterfly. It does pay sometimes to be a nonconformist when the situation warrants. But a nonconformist, who seeks after some difference, merely for the sake of difference, are but rebels.

“Rebellion in the light of justice is black, but in the light of love it is devilish” (Charles Spurgeon).

With such a great cloud of witnesses for the Lord Jesus Christ abounding, i could not help but be persuaded about my sure sins and humbled myself to conform (believe). Though i was illumined about the Savior in 1977 at Zion, Gunt-ur, it was only in 1989 that i conformed with all Christians world over and had my sins washed in the Waters of Baptism. It was only after i put my trust (believed) in the Lord Jesus Christ that i came to know anything that is worth knowing at all. Dr. Billy Graham correctly stated: “It is not after knowing that we believe. It is after believing that we come to know.” But sure enough, the Lord Jesus Christ does not expect us to believe in Him without first giving us a taste of Himself. As the scriptures declare, “Taste and see that the Lord is good” (Psalm). So, Try Jesus! And then Jesus Himself declares: “This is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom You have sent” (Jn17:3).
