Today, i was taken aback by the way God dealt with me.
I had wondered what "Religion Today" or any American news report said about the killing of 7 Christian welfare workers in Pakistan after the terrorist attack on a Hindu temple in Gujarat in India ("Hind"). I wanted to know more because the Hindu news paper was very scant. I searched the Internet and found that www.oneworld.net had an article on it. There was even a request to everyone to appeal to General Pervez Musharraf of Pakistan and to UN High Commissioner for Human Rights. I wondered if i should send this letter and so i prayed. God spoke to me through Matthew 10:7,8 ("And as you go, preach, saying the Kingdom of heaven is at hand. Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse the lepers, cast out demons, freely you received, freely give.") I then called my wife Anna and told her about this leading. As i intended to go to Pakistan to raise those fellow-workers from the dead, she said i needed to meet with a psychiatrist. I called several responsible brothers in the Church and they all did not believe this was the leading from the Lord. As this was of great importance i remained in prayer for some time. The Lord gave me John 6:8,9 where Andrew did not believe what Jesus could do with five loaves of bread and two fish. But later it was Jesus who did feed the five thousand in-spite of the lack of faith from His disciples. I understood this as comfort, which God was giving me for the lack of faith among my fellow-workers. So i then asked the Lord if i should actually pursue this end. I then got Luke 23:8,9 where Herod who had heard of Jesus Christ, wanted to see Him perform a sign. But the Lord kept silent then. I was then reminded of John 12:40 ("He has blinded their eyes, and hardened their heart; lest they see with their eyes and perceive with their heart and be converted, and I heal them.") I then wondered how many Herods we have in our time today. I also realized that God wants to destroy the lost as much as He wants to save the elect at all costs.
