Swami Vivekananda assumed that all religions are equally superior because all talk about God. If I come out with a religion X and say, “Kill infidels to go to God,” does it make it a valid religion let alone equal? The implication of the Swami’s statement "to get better at who you are," is: if you are in the mud, get even muddier; if you are in darkness, go into further darkness; if you are a scavenger, get better at scavenging, and so forth. You are really stuck in this proposal. Let’s assume we indeed go through the cycle of samsara, why can’t we think God made a provision through Jesus, to off-load us of our guilt to attain escape velocity like our Chandrayaan to the moon, and obtain moksha?
