Scripture concerning remarriage

Dear friends,

Greetings once again to all in His holy name!

If we say that the Christian (western) world has failed when it comes to marriage (because of the divorce rate) then the eastern family is worse off because men and woman here live in bondage and have become slaves of men rather than become free and slaves of Christ! If there is divorce in America today it is because the Church has placed undue premium on divorce rather than on adultery (of love/respect)--the cause for divorce. The fact that there is rampant feminism and support for it from the men's circle is proof that this is the case.

As i said in our conversation, God hates adultery more than divorce so much so that He permits severance (divorce--the very thing that He hates--Mal. 2:16) when one is willfully in the habit of adultery (Matt. 5:32; 19:9). Now, adultery need not take the form of only sexual intercourse or lust thereof. It can take the form of a consistent lack of Respect when it comes to the wife towards her husband and a consistent lack of Love when it comes to the husband towards his wife because Respect and Love are counterparts of the same thing issued by wife and husband respectively that bonds them together. That's how Love (God) works in the giver and the receiver.

I agree with Apostle Paul that it is better to remain unmarried if a husband or wife releases the other from something that can best be described as "bondage to sin." Scripture says remove the cancerous cells from you (Matthew 5:27ff). If we do not, the leaven will spread and the whole body will be cast into hell. So if he or she remarries in the Lord, he or she has not sinned (1 Cor 7:27,28). It is also better to remain unmarried if either of them dies for the sake of their children; but more so to hallow the name of the Lord. There is enough distress today and therefore we should seek to remain in the same condition in which we were found and called by the Lord.

The above are only comments to give clarity to Exodus 20:14; Matthew 5:27-32; Eph. 5:22-33; 1 Cor 7:1-40. The former should not be substituted for the later.

Thus says the Lord in my heart, as well as in my body: Luke 15:1-32.
