{"id":3364,"date":"2016-06-09T18:17:45","date_gmt":"2016-06-09T12:47:45","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/agapeambassador.com\/?p=3364"},"modified":"2016-06-09T18:34:30","modified_gmt":"2016-06-09T13:04:30","slug":"dying-for-our-neighbor","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/agapekingdom.org\/agapeambassador\/dying-for-our-neighbor\/","title":{"rendered":"Dying for our neighbor"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3><em>&#8220;We know love by this, that He laid <span class=\"emphasis\">down<\/span> His life for us; and we ought to <span class=\"emphasis\">lay<\/span> <span class=\"emphasis\">down<\/span> our lives for the brethren&#8221;<\/em> (1Jn3:16)<\/h3>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright\" src=\"http:\/\/agapekingdom.org\/agapeambassador\/images\/comb-in-mirror.jpg\" width=\"54%\" \/><\/p>\n<p>That&#8217;s another 3:16 for us to consider.<\/p>\n<p>At first glance it sounds impossible. All through our lives we really took care of this flesh&#8211;gave it a three course meal each day, and what not! Wow! How much we love this body of ours! The fact of the matter is: we love this body of ours precisely because we took so much care of it.<\/p>\n<p>However, when we understand and realize that\u00a0&#8220;flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; nor does the perishable inherit the imperishable&#8221; and that &#8220;this perishable must put on the imperishable, and this <span class=\"emphasis\">mortal<\/span> must put on immortality&#8221; (1Cor15:50, 53)&#8230;the value that is normally associated with this flesh drastically diminishes. And as Christians, who have a real assurance and hope of the after-life, laying down our lives for our brethren just like Jesus did, indeed becomes lite and easy (Matt11:30).<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&#8220;We know love by this, that He laid down His life for us; and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren&#8221; (1Jn3:16) That&#8217;s another 3:16 for us to consider.
